HURRICANE SANDY CAUSED 1 WEEK OF RAIN HERE PLUS DARK CLOUD

SO WAS FEELING VERY BAD
RAINED AGAIN TODAY AROUND 1PM
FINALLY GOT A BREAK AN HOUR LATER,,,,,,,,ALIAS FRIDAY NOV 2
WENT TO A PARK IVE DONE MANY TIMES
EXPECTED LITTLE VERY LITTLE
BUT AS GOMER USED TO SAY,,,,,,,,,,,,GOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLY!!!!!!!!!!
FIRST COIN WAS A TOONIE(2 DOLLAR COIN)
GOT 4 MORE OF THOSE LATER
PLUS OVER A DOZEN LOONIES(1 DOLLAR COIN)
AND EVEN MORE
WOW IN NOVEMBER $28.50
SUPER MOOD CHANGER:bouncy:

Hope things are looking better for you, and yours... was without power here for several days back in April 2011, We know how it feels to be without power, and the normal way of life,,, it is not fun,, can get you down...

WENT BACK TO THIS SPOT A COUPLE OF DAYS AGO
ONLY HAD 90 MINUTES UNTIL DARK
FELT I HAD CLEANED IT OUT
BUT STILL GOT 6 TOONIES AND SOME OTHER COINS
FOR A TOTAL OF $17,40 PLUS A FEW PENNIES:canadaflag:

THIS WEEK I BOUGHT A GARRETT GTA 350
LIKED THE LOOKS AND PRICE
NO KNOBS TO BREAK AND SOLID ALL AROUND
THOUGHT IT COULD BE A BACKUP OR IF A FRIEND WANTED TO TRY THE HOBBY
WELL LOOKS AINT EVERYTHING
HAD TROUBLE EVEN IDENTIFYING EVEN SHALLOW PENNIES
MY RICE CRISPIES HAVE LESS SNAP CRACLE AND POP NOISE THAN THIS GARRETT
HAVE HAD SEVERAL GARRETTS OVER THE YEARS AND THEY WERE CRACKLY
AFTER 40 OR 50 YEARS YOU THINK THEY WOULD CHANGE
AFTER 20 MINUTES SHUT IT OFF AND WENT TO THE CAR
GOT MY BOUNTY HUNTER OUT AND FOUND $5.50
IT WAS LIKE DAY AND NIGHT
SOLD THE GARRETT IMMEDIATELY
GIVE ME AN ANOLOG BH ANYTIME

I don't follow the Garrett brand that closely, but before I went with BH I considered them strongly and almost went with Tesoro instead. But the BH Time Ranger had it all and I was weary of chasing iron wire clippings using my Gold Bug 1 with no ID or disc.

To me it seems the Ace 350 is a popular detector and I haven't read much about them being chattery. My T2 likes to talk a lot as well, but there's steps you can take to quiet it down or make some sense from it. I know how familiarity with a decent detector often serves the owner better than a quick fling with a new machine. But it seems to me we sometimes don't give a new machine a decent chance to prove itself. If you've tried several and that's how they behave for you, I can't blame you much for not enjoying using one. I too appreciate the quiet-running BH detectors and haven't felt the need to change platforms.

I guess you got instant gratification when you switched back to your BH and I sure can't argue with results! You seem to do just fine in that department!

Congrats af647 detecting is the best hobby . You get sunshine and excercise and get to find some cool stuff. Happy hunting and were all here for all the detectorists :usaflag::thumbup:

af647 lives in Canada like I do, almost around the corner from him. The problem with Garretts in my past experiences they have issues with the modern day Canadian clad coins. Made mostly of nickel plated steel. They sound or jump on the meter as junk does. Some detectors in disc. mode will not drop low in the disc setting enough to accept them. If you run the disc as low as possible, every piece of garbage will sound off, making for a noisy machine. The older analog machines seem to do much better with those clad coins, better audio.

Joey loves the Big Bud, you won't be able to get him to switch, it's a root'in toot'in Loonie-Toonie machine. It' just loves to sniff them out of the ground.
By the way, he could use a spare if you have one for sale. His is getting ratty looking, think I saw duck tape on it last time.
