ERIK, who post here occassionally but is usually found on the Explorer Forum is down for a visit in Bermuda with his lovely wife, Elaine. He did a little dry sanding on his first few days in Bermuda and did pretty, darn good with a 925 St. Christopher medallion and chain, plus a possible old coin find.(might be a piece of eight or a repro, tough to say)
This Pirate decided it was time for an aspiring pirate like ERIK to get into the water so tonight I met him at his hotel with my Excal and scoop and we headed for the water at his hotel beach. We didn't find much but we had a lot of fun! That's what it's all about in the end.

The end of another Bermudaful day

We'll hunt again and maybe find some really good loot together before he heads back to NYC. I think this pirate is gonna be hooked on the water!

Cheers,

I figured it was the least I could do for a pirate brother,GH. I just wish Erik wasn't so tall (6'4"), teaching him how to dig a target had me up to my chin while standing on my toes!:lmfao:

Good Hunting to You,

BDA:cool:

I know that most of us on this forum would have done the same, Joe. That's what a pirate brotherhood is all about, share and share alike. Thank you for counting me in as one of the good guys.

Kind Regards,

BDA:cool:

Hi folks and BDA!

Just got back from Bermuda where my wife and I celebrated our 3rd anniversary! I had the good fortune to hook up with our very own BDA Hunter while there. Eric is a very personable guy and was kind enough to take me out water detecting for the first time! He also gave me a "Pirates Union Local #9 - Bermuda" T-shirt ... so I guess I am officially a pirate now! Using my SE in the wet sand my first target was a Sterling .925 St. Christopher medal with chain! I also found a neat old coin/token that was gilded and has a coat of arms in the dry sand. Eric helped clean off the sediment that was quite thick and I'll be posting pics soon. Found some nice silver English Shillings in land 1906 & 1941 as well as a few big coppers. Also unearthed a few nice old relics as well. I'll post the nut as soon as I have a chance to scan it.

Yes, I was wearing long pants due to a good Bermuda sunburn on my legs acquired on the first day I was there. The long pants and my Crox worked wonders though. Anyway, Elaine and I had a great time, thanks in no small part to BDA Hunter - AKA Eric.

Best Regards, Erik

Eric, thanks again for everything I hope I can return the favor to you in NJ sometime and we can finally get out with our wives. Will try to call this week. Best, Erik
