I bought a used GT on EBay , what do I need to look for to make sure it is functioning correctly . Also are the settings and the sounds the same as my Excalibur II . What would be the best ad on coils .
Thanks for any help DocAudio
.

I have both the Sovereign GT and the Excalibur II. I find that the poor quality headphones on the Excalibur II do not give the same tonal response as the Sovereign GT with a quality set of headphones. Take a few coins out in the yard. Place them where there is no metal to interfere. Pass the coil over each one and observe the different tones. The best add on coil would depend on quite a number of factors. How trashy is the area you are working. Is the soil highly mineralized. ETC ETC. Also as with different likes and dislikes in detectors you will get a multitude of answers as to which is the best add on coil.
