Hay Todd,

That looks like a nice one.

I would really like to give that one a spin.

I got a EuroSabre, Vaquero, Silver Sabre

uMax and a Compadre.

If I could swing it I would have a Bandido

and a Tejon also.

But I'm having a great time with them.

Happy Hunting,

Tabdog

Howdy Todd

That little Bandido maybe small, but it is Big on performance, to get the optimum from it, it needs to be properly ground ballanced. It's no big deal to ground ballance, just find a clean piece of ground, free from metal objects to do your GB procedure. Have fun with it...........Hombre

Very nice looking detector! I am sure you will enjoy it and do well with it! Good luck to you, Beale.

Thanks everybody for nice replies ! It's encouraging to know I made a good choice of make & model.

Barberbill, tabdog, shadow0966, therover, Gunner of bradford MN, Ken Hall, Jonny, Hombre and Beale.

After I get to know the Bandido a little, I'll post my impressions and pics of finds on this thread.

Wishing you-all the best :detecting:.

Great choice for a newbie. One of my favorites. My first detector was a Silver Sabre II and I've tried most all Tesoro's since then. The Bandido uMax is hot and all you have to do is dig. Try lots of different metals at home: nickles, foil, tabs, dimes, gold rings, etc. so you get an idea where they fall on the DISC scale.
Then make a small mark with nail polish or a bit of red paint at the point where nickels and screwcaps break up on the dial - should be around 4 and 7. Now you have a DISC range detector. Not really true TID, it can help you ID targets pretty accurately. When I had mine, I could tell square tabs from beavertails from the DISC and audio.

Good luck.

Hi David (dahut),

Thanks for the good tip ! I can't wait to get started with the Bandido ll uMax.

Hey Everybody !

Received my Bandido ll uMax today, Oct. 21........it arrived around 3:30 PM, EST.

I got it assembled and read some of the manual, then had to finish some chores before dark.

Tomorrow I'll take it for a test drive.
