Today i bought a like new only used once Minelab musketeer advantage for 250 dollars.. It is nice and loud lol....

I need to practice with it and figure out how to set the settings... So far i like it.. i like the weight and it feels great!!

You should be happy with that as I have heard they are a pretty good detctor it will be hard to find parts if it tears up though.

You are going to like it especially for coin hunting. Seems the discriminator doesn't effect depth much if any!!! :detecting: As I said before if your soil is moderately unrealized, just turn the sensitivity clear up and back it down until it quiets while holding it 2 -3 ft off of the ground. Have both toggles in the down position and set your discriminator as high as you want. About the 2:30 location as if the knob was a clock face. That should still allow gold rings and nickles. Machines could vary a bit so just wave a sample over the coil to set where you want to discriminate. GOOD LUCK!! And have a ball!

The Minelab Advantage is a current model and parts shouldn't be an issue.The Musketeer is a good first metal detector.You bought at a good price if it doesn't work out you should get your money back.These detectors have good depth,but does have an appetite for bottle cap(hard to discriminate out).I think you will be pleased you are on your way to some interesting finds.By the way an after market straight shaft is a good idea for this metal detector.Good Luck Ron

unrealized = mineralized
Sorry
