Bought a V3i Today Need advice

Are there any sites with a virtual V3i on them to mess around with settings? Are there any programs anyone can suggest? I am a newbie to the V3i but not to White's products. Any help would greatly be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Anxious to get the machine !!! Come on UPS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Unfortunately they never did do a V3i emulator. Once you get your detector the best thing to do is to bury a coin at different depths and play with the main settings (sens, disc, recovery, filters, etc.).

Until it comes use the search function (for info on those main topics) here and on the other Whites forum. There is so much info. I just got mine a week ago and have learned a lot by reading the posts but also a whole lot by playing with settings. There are also some videos on you tube.

All the best,
EMS

For all new users......................

Don't be in a big hurry to make changes to the very good programs that come with the V's. I would strongly suggest to pick a program and go hunting with it, have fun and learn what the machine is telling you. Dig all targets at first so you will learn first hand what trash and unwanted targets sounds like and you will learn to ignore them in the future with confidence. The first thing you should learn is to adjust the RX and Disc sensitivity to get stability in your ground. All of the rest of the adjustments are there to change on a as needed basis for most users. I realize that some users have special needs for their ground but for the most part, the V's are ready to go hunting with right out of the box. As you progress you will learn what different features are used for and can apply them to your needs, just don't try to too much too fast or you will be overwhelmed with the choices and that will take the fun factor away from hunting.

Read and tweak to see what works best for you in your ground and forget what other people use in their ground, that could be completely wrong for you. Just get out there and have fun.

Well some of us went through the same thing as you are and we some had to read and watch videos..I did and then the machine comes and even no you are ready there is alot of info you have to take and learn.

So try the CJ program and learn about Recovery Delay and then your filters...If the detector works right out of the box then just use it and start to learn the sounds and the VDI and how to GB and how to pin point. Learn how to save a program and name it so when you have made changes you can go back to what is working and start over. I think if you change a little and it works safe that and keep going...if you are like me..I did too much and had to start from the start and then tweak till I was happy.

The problem is that both the DVD and youtube videos are fucked ONLY in English (I have nothing against the English: D). The instructions also, and for non-Anglophones, we have to use an online translator shit (which badly translated) it is difficult to get help to configure the V3.
That cost them the manual and dvd traduccir in multiple languages?
anyway ...

The V3i on board manual is in several languages. You tube videos are made by Whites users except for the factory videos that are posted there. Spanish is one of the on board languages. ROB

When buying from your local dealer ask him how much training comes with the deal, I'm sure that is negotiable. If you are not working with a local dealer, you are pretty much on your own.

While sitting in your ez chair at home , take the V3 and spend a hour or so and familiarize your self with the menu system helps also.

That Menu flowchart a few posts down is worth printing out and keeping on hand until you get use to the V Sonny.

read posts and dont go crazy with settings right away the v is great , trust it and learn to better it. the v is super on preset programs.

Its on this page about 9 posts down on this page.
