Picked up a nice like new Compadre with a 7" coil,wow works as good as the compadre with the 8" coil, 8" on a gold ring.9" on a silver ring.Hope it gets cool soon :cool:
 
I have always wanted to try a Tesoro. One of these days I will.

For years I've thought of trying the Compadre but haven't. I did own the Vaquero many years ago and used it mostly on the Lake Michigan beaches. It was a deep seeker just as you've mentioned on the Compadre. It wasn't unusual to locate a quarter at 10-12" or more. I may try the New Tesoro Mojave sometime.
