bought a used BH fast tracker

Bought it as a backup, and something that I can keep in my car for spur of the moment hunts. This is my first BH and I was wondering if all BH coils were interchangeable? I was looking for something alittle bigger any suggestions?

Hey there. I'm not sure if ALL BH coils are compatible with ALL BH detectors. You have the 8" concentric stock coil on your machine now? You MIGHT get a little more depth with the 10" version. I have not heard to many good things about the Magnum coil. May I suggest reversing your thinking and going to a smaller coil. If the BH 4" coil fits your machine you will have a blast with it. Highly recommended for trashy areas and tight spots bigger coils cant touch. I have the 8" concentric stock coil on my Pioneer 505 and I feel it does a great job. Just my opinion. HH. Matt

After posting i found some reviews regarding the 10" magnum coil, and they all seem to say the same thing. No extra depth, just faster coverage. I think the coil I have is a 7", but You may be right about the smaller coil.

The 7" is a good coil and has a slightly "crisper" response compared to the 8" coil with only slightly less depth. I felt the 10" was maybe an inch and a half deeper than my 8" coil. I didn't use either for very long, they were here as part of a repair job to fit new plugs on them. The 4" coil is good for coin-sweeps under the playground swings and monkey bars or closer to fences and rebar in concrete than larger coils will allow.

I liked both 7" and 10" but didn't rush out to buy my own after I returned them to their owner. Prices on the BH site aren't too bad right now for the 10" and 4" coils and there's always used coils to look for.
