I PMed Dave and was very pleased with the advice and information given about this detector. I guess the sad part with me using a Tesoro there goes the neighborhood. Thanks Ron

Personally, I'm glad you got it, Ron. You can hardly go wrong: Great perfromance, rugged construction and untouchable service should you ever need it.
Just be mindful of that sensitivity.

There are a lot of detectors you can spend your money on. And when it comes to a freshie beach, you can get used to most anything.
At the end of the day, the Tiger Shark is simply the best value. Only one other comes close: the 1280-X.
Now, at the salt beach it's another story. You'll want to look elsewhere for a good salt water detector - that's all I'm gonna say here.

As for the neighbors, well.... they're gonna talk about somebody, regardless. May as well be you!

Congrats on the Tiger Shark. I don't have one because nearly all my water time involves salt, otherwise, I'd go Tiger too!
Keep us posted on how you are doing!

Hey Ron, Ive been thinking of a tiger shark also. Is it a good solid machine? Everybody seem's to like it. I mentioned a couple other brands but got some mixed thought's about them some not to good, but the tiger shark is alway's positive.I live in Minnesota so we're both in the same boat with the weather. Thanks

Gear box,I have used other water units but not the Tiger Shark. As far a fresh water use with this detector all the information I gained has been positive.Probably won't get the Tesoro out to search a lake shore until April, which is three long months away. Thanks Ron
