Bought a Golden uMax from another finds member

Wow, does this detector talk. Not a one tone beep like the Vaquero I had. Used it twice so far, today in a park. Pennies, clad, square tabs, beaver tail tabs, nails, steel bottle caps, foil. All produce a distinct signal. Some signals are two mid tones, some two mid tones with chatter, some three tones with chatter, without chatter, low tone, low & high tones together, mid & high tones together, some tones blend tighter, some more separated. Today I learned the sound of pennies, clad, some pull tabs, shallow steel bottle caps and deeper steel bottle caps. Before I went out with it I air tested various targets for sounds, but in the park the signals were different, I guess from being in the ground a long time. I also have a Cortes for three years now. I like the ID meter, SUM mode, depth indication, great detector. The Golden has four tones that it mixes and blends. I don't know yet but the tones might out-do the meter. Also has an adjustable notch that lets me tune out most tabs and still get a solid signal on ladies gold rings, but mens gold rings tune out along with the tabs. The Golden uMax just might become my go to detector.
