Bought a golden sabre 2

My first choice for a toned machine would have been the tesoro pantera, but I settled for a golden sabre 2 with the only difference being the pantera has a 10 turn GB. On the other hand I seldom has any trouble with the silver umax's preset GB.
Looking forward to the arival of my new machine.

Thanks, Actually I do have a few questions, When, if ever do you use the notch accept?
Also, how does well does it pick up smaller gold?

I bought the unit for a couple reasons, 1] All I need is 2 tones, and the ability to set where the low/high tones seperate. 2] I have about 6 big ball dimonds close to town that are full of tabs, I am hoping to pull a few rings ot of there this season.

The two main reasons to use the notch accept, you can set it to find a specific target like nickel or a single ring size or type mixed in with a lot of junk, it is handy if you to need to find an ear ring.& you have the mate. Just remember that specific range of targets will be all that you will find.
The other reason to use it when you set it to accept a target then flip the switch to reject that target will not be herd and vise versa. So if you pass a nickel under the coil and it makes any sound at all while in accept then move the notch.
The GS2 is very hot on gold rings of all sizes . A couple hints that will help you is once you have setup your notch, always hunt with notch in the off position till you get a signal then flip to reject if it still sounds dig, you could do the same if you flip to accept sounds good do not dig. And do not try to set it up on a broken or bent pull-tab or you will lose a lot of rings.

Thank-you pulltaber, Have found information on this machine nearly obsolete.
I'd be happy to hear from others that have used this machine.:)

Thump,

I don't use notch reject/accept switch much, there are too many good targets missed, I just set the primary disc. at minimum and the notch control to break tone (warble) on a zinc penny at about a 6 setting on my Pantera. You can choose to dig it all or be picky........ and dig high tones only for higher conductive copper pennies, dimes, silver etc. It is really up to you on what to dig.

I got mine new in 1993.I have had a lot of detectors before and lot after; some I am glad are gone some I wish I still had.But I sure am glad that I sill have my GS2!
Hombre is right if you want to find it all leave the notch off.
