after a lot of back and forth I got ahold of a garrett ace 300 from 1998 for just 75 bucks!!!!!!1

got to love canton IL junk shops!

this thing is in mint shape in box with all the papers.


this is going to be a great backup for the whites at the spring hunt!!!!!!!!!:wiggle:

Nothing wrong with the 300 as long as it works. It sold new for $179 retail, discounted $149. A nice entry level machine, it is almost like the new White's Coinmaster in the same price range.

Now you will have to figure out which detector to take with you. Garrett or Whites or Whites or Garrett. Oh heck, Just take them both. :thumbup:
 
At a seeded hunt with all the targets shallow depth your Ace 300 should be your first choice due to weight and speed. Just throw some coins out in the grass, stand back a few steps and see how your swing speed is with both detectors. Which detector will get you the most without killing your arm due to speed hunting.
