Bottlecaps

One thing I love about the tesoros I have used is how well they ID most bottlecaps.

I have never used the LOBO or the TEJON.

Do they ID the bottelcaps as good?

I get fooled b bottle caps, especially the new one close to the suface

What coils are you using also (DD's or concentrics)?----DD's have a harder time with b.c.'s.

CladDog, I can not help you with your question about them detectors. I don't have those 2. But I like digging BOTTLE CAPS... KEN

I have no use for bottlecaps. I find them entirely over rated.

The Tejon, with the discriminator set to knock out a very small nail, will beep solidly on a bottle cap. The beep has a clicking or sharp sound on the edges of the beep with the middle of the beep full like you would get on a quarter. On a quarter the edges are smooth sounding as the beep starts and ends. The edge of the beep is what is important in the ID.

When I hear the sound, I'll tell myself "I think it's a bottle cap". Many times it is, sometimes it isn't. I dig them anyway to get them out of the way and to make sure it isn't a good target masquerading as a bottle cap (sometimes that happens too).
Cheers,
tvr

PS If you like to fish, you can make lures with bottle caps. Do a search on "bottle cap fishing lures" and you will find all sorts of examples!

Well, I have a bag of 'em you can have a ball with then!-----We've gotten written on the bag "Americas worst offenders" (I'm serious)! -----They came in REALLY high reading on different detectors.-----They are my souveniers & no---nobody ever accused me of being "normal"!! :lmfao:

Well thanks for the answers. I thought the Tejon and Lobo would be hot on bottlecaps given their internal settings.

I think we should start saving them BOTTLE CAPS. Maybe 100 years from now they might be worth some BIG $$$$$$.... KEN

I think there's a video game out there set in an apocalyptic future where bottlecaps are used as currency.....

The Tesoros and Whites that I've used seem to find bottle caps quite well.
