There is no brand name on the bottle itself. Maybe on the cap but I can't make out all the letters. One pic is a close up of the patriot image with the letters "half pint" underneath. Maybe the bottom view may help date the bottle. Machine made I believe but can't date it. The sides have an image of a ship with sails. The back of the bottle says "Federal law prohibits sale or reuse of this bottle" I assume it is some kind of whiskey but would like a brand and approximate date if anyone knows.

Thanks Phil, I searched the pat. number but didn't find that site.
Hey Curt, thinking of going to an old fairground tomorrow. Let me know if you are interested. Right on with the name. Here is a link to the same bottle I have.

It be me own half pint bottle of Paul Jones Whiskey... I lost it half full and expect it be shipped to me in that condition or better......

Arrgh! Polly done shit on my shoulder again...

Shiver me timbers.... That old bottle has stood up well all these many years.... Arrgh....

Google Paul Jones Whiskey look for your bottle..

Paul Jones whiskey was my first thought. John Paul Jones was a famous figure who sailed against British ships during the colonial era. He died young and lived in Portsmouth, N.H. That is most likely a bust of him on the bottle with the reference to an old ship. This is just some of the info that I read when I googled John Paul Jones.
I have dug and collected old bottles since 1978 when I was just 12 yrs old. I have found scores of older Paul Jones whiskey bottles from the 1880's, and have probably passed up more of the newer ones like the one pictured in the post. I still think it can be a good history lesson when you find and post something like the bottle. It makes people dig a little deeper for info, which as we now know the internet is a super highway of information. Thanks for the post!!

I was out on quads with a friend exploring in the forest today and found a bottle just like yours except the lid is in a little better shape.. Frankfort Distilleries... Mine has D11 56 8 and it is on the upper back side verses on the bottom... so I am guess that if the 40 means 1940 then mine must be 1908.. I will have to resize my pics but here is a link I found to some history about this whiskey http://www.pre-pro.com/midacore/view_vendor.php?vid=SDF18541
