Bottle ID Help

BEAR

New member
Found this bottle and it is made by Hazel-Atlas Glass Company and was made in Clarksburg, WV. Anyone know what it was used for and what kind of top would it have? Thanks Bear

Maybe an old olive jar.

A pickle jar? I found a similar shaped one once that had some reference to contents and I think it was pickles.

Anything wide mouthed is either for junks of something or something thick like a thick sauce. If it is narrow mouthed it is likely for a thin liquid. Just like today.

It might have been made for home canning and a wider mouth is easier to fill and fit a funnel in, in canning you don't want product on the seal area.
