BOTTLE CAP TEST -SILVER UMAX- 8"CONCENTRIC- NEL SHARPSHOOTER

I was asked to do this test , and the 8" concentric is the better discriminator on bottle caps over the NEL sharpshooter. but the sharpshooter is far better at finding targets when the ground gets really badd for minerals.

AND THE SECOND TEST USING THE SHARPSHOOTER,,

Nice vids Gunnar. Now you know why the Silver is my favorite!

Good videos. I run the the tesoro 5x10 DD wide scan on my Vaquero for the past 1.5 years and it is the the same as the NEL and it's on my Vaquero for good. The stock concentric is better at discing out the bottle caps for sure but once you learn the sound differences of the DD coil and swing speed discrimination it is easy to hear the rough edge sounds of the bottle caps as you demonstrated.
When I first put the 5x10 on I went out and dug so many bottle caps that I took the darn thing off and never touched it for 2 years till I wanted to hunt in bad ground and the DD found me sweet rare silver dime. I did a few more hunts with the DD wide scan and then I went back to the stock coil and I did not like the lack of ground coverage and extra weight and spokes getting caught in brush.
In the Field you can really hear the difference as your video shows and as my ears have been getting better I am pulling more coins on edge this season.
I find I swing the 5x10 DD in a different manner than the concentric and use the toe and heel of the coil and the silence to read the signal and separate targets.
Thanks for taking the time to do the video.

Forgot to say that I hunt in AM mode via the pinpoint button on the Vaquero and once released I am quickly back to discrimination. For most of my hunting here in Atlantic Canada this technique works well as and the DD coil helps with varying soil conditions.

Minas man, good to hear you find the same thing, on bottle caps its a short pop of a sound , and the dime is a nice soft sound and in that hot ground the DD rules, I will probably keep the 8" concentric on the silver , and put the DD on the outlaw or another silver I just don't want to ground balance the silver back and forth because right now its really set good for average ground with the 8" coil , even in my ground which has a lot of black sand in it i am getting a good signal at 6" using the 8 concentric. so the silver is going to stay as it is with the 8 coil Rainy day this machine is so nice I see why you like it

Gunnar, some great videos,i wish i could locate a 5pin SharpShooter coil but most that are sold over here in the UK are the 4pin version,it would mean getting one on special order,i do use one on my T2 and its my favourite combination.

Still cannot 'Gel' with the 8'' concentric coil and have tried a few other and still the same results,so i dont tend to use them as a rule.

Love that high tech external speaker system you use  a quality piece of technology

Your Mean!!!
:yikes:

You know, it actually sounds better than the speaker used by Tesoro.................so there!

Gunnar Steampunked his Tesoro.

that is the low tech version just a headphone speaker on the 1/4 jack and tapped to the detector actually its not as loud . and if I need more volume i just unplug it and use the speaker in the detector , I wish i could get a ground balance on this silver umax . but i just don't trust my skills I like svens, I keep it on the Mirage, and I am a bit protective of the mirage as its a rare detector and nothing can beat it I know for lightweight and so on .

Gunnar one of these days I am gonna cash in the piles of coins my Silver has found. All I can say is it is effective beyond belief and has sweet audio. The Tiger Shark is like a Silver on steroids and has even sweeter audio yet.
