The mild weather and strong warm winds have melted the snow to the point that a ski hill nearby shut down, so my buddy and I headed to the slopes and hunted all afternoon. We managed to find over $30.00 between the two of us, and there was another person there who also found a stash of coins. That yeller feller just punches through the snow and really sounds off niecly. It has proven itself this past winter od being a very good, in fact my best machine for winter hunting, even when the temperatures drop to extremely cold temperatures. Charles really made a "GOODER" this time round. And, it loves Canadian one and two dollar coins. At the rate that I'm finding those coins, I should have the machine paid off soon!

Also got out today for a quick hunt, using the old buddy "GTI 1500". I discovered an old house had been torn down, so I thought that I would try my luck and see if there were some older coins to be found. Well, penny after penny (51 of them) kept coming out of the ground......even a dime and 2 nickels, but no silver coins. I did get a stirling silver earring though, which made in Mexico. Also, my oldest coins were Wheaties. The weatherman is calling for 10-12 inches of snow on tues, with temperatures droping to minus 15. Oh well, I was lucky to sneak a dirt hunt in today for a change. <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)">

Great finds John. I sure hope my"yeller feller" is as good to me as yours is to you. Be a while yet before the weather is mild enough and the ground thawed to hunt here, still lots of snow to0 get rid of. The snow dump is still a mountain so will be awhile before it melts. Seeing I have time on my hands I made an external volume controls for the 250 as there are some areas were I want to use ear buds and its too loud without controls. I hope you bought some nuts for your furry friend. HH Ken

Dang John you made a killing. Wish coins were that plentiful around here. You know, if one had of had one of these detectors back in the late forties and early fifties they could have lived quite well on what they found and would never have had to work.

You deserve them all and more for getting out there and doing it.
Was wondering if you still use the heated pads around the 250?
They are very popular here in Japan for many other kinds of uses e.g. a standard pocket warmer type, adhesive types......ones for inserting into shoes........if you are interested, see the link to one of the biggest manufacturers and their range.
