Boston area hunt?

Joe G

New member
I'm going to be in Cambridge next Thursday - Sunday... Any ideas on where I can hunt? Land or sea, makes no difference to me :)

BTW: I'm not looking for specific locations... just what's legal to hunt.

Thanks,

Joe

Wollaston? is about 25 minutes.Time permitting, try Nantasket Beach also.Is maybe a 35 minute ride, but may be worth it.Just ask the locals where the beaches are. Boston Commom would be great, but its a Historic site!!No no! Good Luck! RJ

I've always thought that along the banks of the Charles River on eithter the Cambridge or Boston side qould be great hunting although I've not tried it though. Those banks are always loaded with students and other folks for various Charles events (regattas, fireworks, picnics. I doub't that anyone would object working those shores.

I agree with Frank the banks of the Charlse's are great .To my knowledge 1 gold coin was found in the 80's.If your daring try the common it's legal but should be done in early a.m.

Hunting along the Charles around the Boston Esplanade, up to about five years ago was a no no. The MDC would kick you out, but since the MDC is no longer, who knows. You can hunt the Boston Commons, but you cannot hunt the Public Gardens. The Gardens is considered federal land and is patrolled by the Park Rangers. The Park Rangers start duty at 8:00am.

The banks of the Charles along the Cambridge side is all fair game. All I ever found in the Commons were used needles and new money with every hobo looking for money or a smoke... not a very nice place to hunt.
