I really like hunting at this time of year. Get to find a lot of firsts. Today I got the first US Dollar Coin and the first gold ring of 2008. The ring is so small. .42g 10k gold. That's $5.63 if you're wondering. Also 3 or 4 junk pieces of junk jewelry. Bunch of clad. .223 shell. Buttons. Junk (never pictured.)
I call it 2 hunts because I took a 3 hour break between them. Both bark chip areas and the surrounding grass.
There was a pile of snow at one playgound that had to be 25 feet tall. It attracted a lot of kids two of whom followed me around. They were real nice kids. I'm glad they got to share finding the gold with me even if it was puny.
The egg is a funny story. The boy who was tailing me told me they had an egg hunt yesterday and that they contained Hershey Kisses. We found three full ones, and yes, we shared and ate the candy. They hit solidly on foil, go figure. The kid asked if he could use my detector next year for the egg hunt. I thought that was pretty clever.
