Bonus Hunt Numbers 7 & 8 (GTI 2500) Somethin' Special

I went out yesterday (cold) and today (warmer) for a few hours each day. Yesterday I was still notching everything below cent. Hardly any junk but just what I expected. Mostly quarters and dimes. Today was a lot of fun. Hunting in straight jewelry mode and digging everything. I dug a lot of junk and I mean a LOT of junk! I had a feeling I would find a ring and I found two. The 925 band was not buried but was deep in the grass. Must have been lost this winter. It indicated strong half dollar and it weighs 11.5 grams which is very close to the weight of a half. $6.50 in just silver value. Very nice to get that first piece of silver jewelry of the year. Looked up toward heaven and thanked God for a beautiful day. The scary face ring rang up as dime and it is crushed so I can't read inside the band. I suspect it came out of a Cracker Jack box back when they gave out great prizes like that. The outside of the ring is stamped Made in Hong Kong. Some other junk pictured but most of it I tossed.

I am very sore. I have a blister on my big toe where my boot was rubbing up against it. My hands are chapped. I will probably only be able to manage an hour or two tomorrow!

Wow, thats a beefy ring!!!! Great finds!!!

Great finds Chris,
Bet they brought you a warm glow.
My fave is that chunky silver and it looks in super nick, maybe the design of the gold one leaves something
to be desired but gold is gold. Yep the colour is nicer than the design.
Well found Chris.

There is no gold in that pile. It is some kind of pot metal I think. It has some black paint on it too. (The scary face ring FYI.) They had carnivals on the site back from about 1940 to the late 1960s. A tornado came through and toppled the ferris wheel and killed a guy. That was the end. I still get an occasional silver coin or nice piece of jewelry there and everybody with a metal detector has hunted this site for the past 30 years.

I love the way you called my ring in "super nick" condition. I really like it too and it is very heavy for such a small ring. Maybe size 4. I have another silver ring that size that weighs 2.5 grams for comparison. Incidentally I hadn't calibrated my jewelers scale since last fall and the rings actual weight is 11.04 grams.
