I went out yesterday (cold) and today (warmer) for a few hours each day. Yesterday I was still notching everything below cent. Hardly any junk but just what I expected. Mostly quarters and dimes. Today was a lot of fun. Hunting in straight jewelry mode and digging everything. I dug a lot of junk and I mean a LOT of junk! I had a feeling I would find a ring and I found two. The 925 band was not buried but was deep in the grass. Must have been lost this winter. It indicated strong half dollar and it weighs 11.5 grams which is very close to the weight of a half. $6.50 in just silver value. Very nice to get that first piece of silver jewelry of the year. Looked up toward heaven and thanked God for a beautiful day. The scary face ring rang up as dime and it is crushed so I can't read inside the band. I suspect it came out of a Cracker Jack box back when they gave out great prizes like that. The outside of the ring is stamped Made in Hong Kong. Some other junk pictured but most of it I tossed.
I am very sore. I have a blister on my big toe where my boot was rubbing up against it. My hands are chapped. I will probably only be able to manage an hour or two tomorrow!
