From the land of the Bluenose..well did take this bouy a time to figure out what a wheatie and a rosey were so I thought I'd share our lingo that goes with the hobby!

dinkie......die cast car toy like a hotwheel
dig.........land hunt
swish.......water hunt
Vickie.......Canadian coins from about 1851 to 1900
fish scale nickel...small 5 cent piece made of silver up to 1921
bouy.........good friend
Bud..........great beer...think that one is universal
Herring Choker...one from New Brunswisck (a weir is a fishing net..chokes the fish)
Spud...Prince Edward Islander...known for its potatoes
Newfie....someone from Newfoundland...brunt of all our jokes
Lord love a duck...unbelievable or profound...curse also!
Large cent.....large copper coins up to mid 1920's
colonial tokens...1780-1842 coinage before canada confederation..also local tokens
