Blue Tubes, Interchangable Phones

These are supposed to be more stable for the big coils. Had to notch another end cap--terrifying. Sharp little coil for sure probably a lot better in the black sand than the 10". Was doing some testing with a "puck" of Cally black sand and even with this coil the second you move it in closer to your test target the responses become way more clipped--a real lesson in how BBS machines perform. Makes a strong case for slowing down, turning it down and alternating between disc and "reverse" hunting.

Im only seeing a 10" coil...which coil was u talking about? U like the new phones....ive seen Gary Storm add that style of headphone connector. Neat phones mod.

Looks real good clive...The Ikelites are so hard to get now and Since the ebay source has now disappeared many have gone the way of the M12 fittings from the CTX, and a new twist is the coil end using the M12/4 all are IP68.

The difference between these and the Ikelites are size and must be cleaned more often based on how much you hunt.

A few examples...Headphone endcap Coil Change endcap

Ya, those are really nice. Glad there's an alternative to the Ikalites--they are a curse to repair and they condensate--that is--they rot. The best bench techs put in some Shoe Goo to fill the dead space. The Bulgin's are nice connectors but you need to have a bit of experience iwth just how delicate plastic threads are--cross em or get some grit in there and you are in trouble. Trick is to keep a toothbrush handy and always reverse the thread to start it. If you suspect it's crossed, eye it sideways and spin it to see.
