BLUE MAX 4X6 SHOOTER DD COIL FOR XLT QUESTION

Hi C E, I am sure that it is a true DD, go to Whites web and look it up. I was thinking of getting one, but i have a 3x18 Bigfoot coil for the XLT. If you get one of the 4x6 dd, let us know how it dose. Flintstone

It's a DD. I didn't like it at all on my XLT - no penetration compared to how the one designed for the DFX performs on the DFX. IMHO the best small coil on the XLT or any 6.59 Whites is the Eliminator that is no longer made. The 6" bullseye / bluemax would be my second choice. Separation in trash or to see less of the ground matrix is why we go to the smaller sizes but I still want punch. No problem getting dimes at 6"with excellent tone ID and good VDI with the Eliminator on my now departed (to a friend) XLT. One sold for $81. sunday on the auction site. They are hard to find.

Thanks for the info, I have all of the other 6.59 khz White's coils which I interchange between my Eagle Spectrum, XLT and IDX Pro (with Mr. Bills mods. I did not know they made a DD coil for the XLT until I saw it in their catalog last night. Think I will just use what I have and save the price of it toward a Jimmy Sierra "Big Foot" coil if I ever find one as they are hard to locate.

te 4" round concentric, they named the Blue Max 350.

The 4X6 Shooter DD's fr the MXT Pro and other same class models works fine. The Blue Max Shooter was wimpy, period.

i use one on my 5900 di pro... and yes depth aint very good, however there is a trashy old homesite i hunt that the 4x6 was able to sniff out a few targets that the 5.3 wasnt able to.... personally the 5.3 is my favorite coil-good depth and great pinpointing....

This is a true DD coil. It is for weaving around in high trash areas. On your XLT crank up your pre-amp gain (until false-ing then back off) to get more depth.
The coplanar coils will go deeper ie the "5 1/4". Keep the XLT it is still ahead of its time.
