I am slowly, but surely recovering from the three broken vertebrates in my neck. I have regained approximately 96 to 98% use of my hands, but still have to use a walker at this time. It is a little difficult, but I am now starting to take a few pictures around the house, crude pictures, but pictures just the same. It sure feels great having a camera in my hands again. I live for the day that this walker can be put out in the garage, and I can again travel the back roads of South Texas taking pictures of old barns, tractors, and other old things.
Our neighborhood have adopted a poor family that lives a short distance from us. Once a month, we gather things to take to them, dry food, sundry items, and what have you. Yesterday, Debbie was packing everything into four boxes when she spotted the "Black Folk's" Soap. She showed it to me and I decided that it could be used as a test picture. Excuse my ignorance, but I did not know that there was such a thing as "Black Folk's" Soap" and thought it was kind of neat. There is a black family that lives four houses to the right of us and I am sure that they must have donated the soap.
This crude picture was taken with a Sony NEX-6 camera that I recently purchased on eBay, using a vintage (1979) Minolta MD Micro 35-70mm F3.5 lens. with the settings of F5.6, 1/40 sec., ISO 100, Manual Mode, "Daylight" White Balance, Manual Focus, and good lighting conditions. I love taking pictures with these old vintage lenses and would say that this lens is a keeper. Wrangler
