Black coil hard to see in dingy H2O, make it white on top?

Anyone every paint or put white electrical tape on their black coil so they can see it better in dingy or stained freshwater? I would think it would make it easier to place the scoop in the right place instead of having to nugged the scoop up against the coil to find the spot to dig. I would say white electric tape would be the best instead of paint. It would serve 2 purposes for me, seeing it better and help protecting the coil from getting all scratched up. I use electric tape on my land MD to keep from getting scratched up.

I found the anwer after making this post. I never thought of it, but I guess in murky water you put the front of your foot right behind the coil. The remove coil and place scoop right infront of toes. I think if I can find white electrical tape I will tape it anyway. Help protect it from getting scratched up.

I use a product to seal coil covers after installed to keep out sand ,etc-called liquid electrical tape,I use the black if done neatly its not only water proof there isn't any siqn ofthe seal.I do believe it comes it white-it would be alot more resistant to water then tape.home depot, wallmarts etc should have it

Coat your coil with marine epoxy, or truck bed liner, protect the coil and make it visible at the same time.

Sounds like a good idea, tks. What color is these items, thought truck bed liner only came in black. I just bought it, probably should check with garrett first to see if doing that would effect any warranty.

I use bright yellow tape on my Sea Hunter coils..makes a difference to be able to see the edge of the coil.

do a search on this forum with the words marine epoxy and you'll see both sides of the argument.

i use a coil cover but sure would like to make my coil a real bright color for off color water.
