I went out and bought a Nikon D-80 and a 70-200mm f/2.8 afs vr zoom lens for it. Seems how the ground is frozen around here - thought I'd go out and take some pics. These pics are from my first trip out with this camera. Enjoy.

Nikon makes great cameras and the best lenses.

I got a D40 for Christmas and hope it works at least half as good. I have been playing with my 70-300 VR lens and really like the feel of the smaller camera on this size lens. My first choice was the 18-200 but the price and the long waiting list discouraged me.

I am thinking about a macro lens and am leaning towards 105mm VR. Do you have any experience with this lens?

Sorry Copperhead - I don't have any experience with that lens. I was also looking at the 80-200 but like ya said the waiting list helped me make my choice up. So far I'm quite pleased with the 70-200.

...the lense is either a nikor or tokina.

Great work buddy. I've always been partial to nikon optics. Thanks for sharing with us. Makes me want to take the plunge and buy another good camera. <><
