Here is Bill Ladd's Brockage Large Cent in a before and after setup!

A story about finding that coin is supposed to appear in the next issue of Western & Eastern Tresures magazine...so thanks again for doing that.

He must be using olive oil

I know that auction prices can vary a lot but I'm wondering what range something like that might go for. Thats right up there with some of the best coin finds I have ever seen. Even the relic guys give it an honorable mention.

For the magazine article I cited a couple of recent coin auctions that featured these error large cents. They don't show up often, but 1 sold for over $1000 graded only as "good". But of course the rub is that mine being dug would probably be branded "enviromental damage" & hurt it's sales appeal. But, I'm just happy with the nice letter I got from ANR coins, & won't consider selling anyhow. It says it's very scarce & is the only one known dug. I'm very happy with that, & will never forget seeing a large cent come out of the ground with 2 "wreaths" As you said, the "Relic Frat boys" thought some buttons, an arrowhead, & a toy cannon were better finds heh heh. So hopefully it will get it's due in the magazine.... HH, Bill

I got beat out by a scabbard tip! Of course it was found a "4 letter" hunt so the minions came out of the wood work to vote for it!

Heh heh as they say over there It probably sounds like we're sore losers or something, but I really was not trying to "win" a dumpo t-shirt or anything I only posted it there because I thought folks might be interested to learn more about a brockage error, as explained in the letter of authenticity, that's all. I don't really like what clubs, & contests do to people so I wish I had never even bothered.....
