noticed in your div X video, you had an eliptical coil on your 1270. was this something you fabricated or is this coil available for the 1270? i could not locate any like that made for the 1270. looks like it performed pretty good for you.did it help with the "deep" signals in that culpeper soil?
thanks,

Fisher made these back when the 1266x ruled the world for relics. It works on all X-series units, including the 1270. They have not been made for years, but occationally turn up on E-bay & such. That was a mint one a dealer had in old stock & I jumped on it as they are hard to come by now....
IN that nasty red clay, you want to stay far away from big & concentric coils & either use something very small (I think the 5" coil would have been good). I had that one in my car & I was pretty happy with how it performed.......seemed better than the stock 8" spyder.

Bill

thanks, bill i'll keep my eye out for one. i tried my 1270 with the stock 8" spider coil and didn't fare too well at div IX. had to use the mxt, which i wasn't too familiar with, but did ok with it. if i make the list for div X,i want to give the 1270 another try.
