Recently received the 10" 7.5 coil for the X-70. I took it out for a test drive at the site we've been hunting for the last couple of weeks. I noticed right off the bat that the coil is a little prone to chatter. After turning the sens. down just a bit, and slowing the sweep speed, I got my first barber dime. It is a 1902 O in good condition. It wasn't the best tone that I've heard but after X'ing over it several times, the 70 locked right on and said dig this one!

Sorry, still cant get the camera to take a decent coin shot. I'll try to get a picture up soon.

The dime was in the middle of a lot of trash at 6" that almost convinced me to move to a quieter spot and the big coil was able to sniff it out. Sens 26, tracking on, pattern 3 with #48 notched out ( lots of falsing over on big iron at this site)

:clapping: Always nice to have a decent find first time out. Congratulations Mike.

Sounds good Mike. I just got the same coil yesterday, I think. The 10.5" medium freq. DD coil. Tried it out on the front lawn with a few previous finds. First thing I noticed was that it was heavier but expected that. What I found a little disturbing though was that it ID'd differently on many targets as compared to the stock coil. And here in Canada where we have the $1 and $2 coins it wouldn't even pick up the $1 coin laying on the surface.......don't know why. I only played with it for a short while and not in a real hunt so first impressions where limited.
