Bigger Coil For My ACE 250?

tnfishdaddy

New member
I have had it for about 2 months and mostly relic hunt with it in and around civil war sites. For a change, I like to do a little coin hunting mostly looking for older stuff. My question is this, what will a bigger coil do for me? Will it give me more depth or will it just give me more coverage? Does it make it harder to pinpoint? Any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

It will give you better depth and will also give you greater coverage. I use my large coil for doing sports fields. In fact, I also got the sniper coil, and I haven't used the stock coil for about 2 years now. You don't lose any sensitivity to small items when using the large coil either.

It will give you more coverage and about 2-3 inches more in depth and it pinpoints just like the stock coil.

Thanks guys. I am trying to talk myself out of a "better" detector. I think I will get a new coil and keep the 250. Nothing wrong with it.
