Bigger coil for CZ6

William

New member
I would like to know if you can use a 10.5" coil on the CZ6 or does it need some mod? Thanks William

CZ6 had a different coil connector and CZ6A units to present units will not fit...Imagine if you post in classifieds may find one as I don't think Fisher has the old connector to install on a newer coil..Same coil...different connector...

I had a CZ-6 that was a 4-pin coil plug into the box. I was able to ask on Classifieds if anyone had a Fisher 4 pin 10.5 coil & someone had one in the closet & sold it to me for $40..... Fisher has since changed mine to the newer 5-pin connector which fits all the newer coils including the excellent Sunray 12.5.
So, just check your connector & then you'll know what type to be looking for........
HH, Bill

Good idea as someone may have one in their closet...Basically the CZ6 is a molded coil connector that can't be taken apart and the CZ6A one has the convential connector that can be taken apart to repair a wire solder break..If you bought the CZ6 used it may have CZ6 on it, but many were updated to CZ6A eliminating the pigtail for the headphone and putting on the newer style of connector..Just saw one on E-bay by a Detector dealer and his ad read CZ6 but it had been converted to the CZ6A. So if a dealer doesn't know the difference can understand why an individual may not...
