BIGGER COIL BETTER IN IRON--WHAT THE

say I found that the 10x12 DD is better working in Iron than the small 7" DD I buried a dime at 4" deep and thear must be a small Iron bit somewhear because I can only get it one way with the 7" coil but to my suprize the 10x 12 got it both ways so I am not so shure the small coils do better in Iron , but may do worse I suspect the 8" donut may have got this as well

Another good video.

I've had good luck with the Outlaw using the 8 inch doughnut coil in iron and trash

Bro, Interesting test. Forget about those pesky gophers making holes, grab your detector and make your own.

The smaller coin may be missing it because of the depth? Maybe the bigger coil is reading the iron? Dig up the coin and then run over the spot with the big coil.

I see what you're thinking, but IMHO a better test would be to try to pickup the dime out of multiple trash targets with each coil. On the other hand, I think you've made a good case for hunting a given area from all directions and if it's been productive also cover it with different coils.
