It's the Bigfoot coils for the MXT and DFX (usable on the V3i) that have prices in the stratosphere. The coils for the older 6.59 MHz machines are much more reasonably priced and you can find them for anything from $150 to $250 depending on condition and how much the guy wants for it. There is also a big foot coil for the Prizm series - 8 MHz detectors. It is apparently quite rare and those probably would go for $200 $250 if you could find one.
It's probably not news to anybody here the reason for all this. The developer and manufacturer of these coils passed away about five years ago and since then no one has been able to reproduce them reliably and economically.
One of the 6.59 MHz Bigfoot coils or the Prizm Bigfoot coil matched with a White's Classic ID or in the case of Prizm coil, a Prizm, Coinmaster or Classic five detector would make a relatively inexpensive coin sweeper.
P.S. there is a Prizm Bigfoot listed on the Accessories For Sale Forum ( by yours truly). I got all excited and bought it because it was so pretty and new, then realized that I had no business adding a Prizm or Coinmaster to my detector harem. I was also going to be clever and try it on my V3i, but the coils connectors are different and it probably wouldn't work anyway.
I have uploaded 4 images.
BF for 6.59 MHz, labeled for S Series, etc.
Some of these apparently have a switch box in the coil cable to adapt for either the older 6.59 detectors or the newer ones like the Classic Series. Without this switch, the back half of the coil gives a double blip over a target. I personally like that since it tells me which half the target is under.

BF with sticker for DFX and MXT - usable with reservations on V3i
