Bigfoot Coil help needed

txop

Member
I just bought a Bigfoot coil off ebay. It's one of the older ones with the 2 bolts at the base to connect it to the rod. The guy kept the old rod. I didn't think this was a big deal until I got the coil and found out the new whites rods don't fix. The older coil uses a smaller screw at the bottom and a larger on the second one.

Anyway can someone tell me what rod would fit? I will probably have to drill a hole in the rod for the 2nd bolt whatever I use.

Thanks for any help.

Harold

You might have to get a hold of Jimmy Sierra to see if he has any more but I would ask the seller to send you the original first. I suppose one could be made.

[size=large]jimmy has his own web site so that's where i would start. strange the seller would keep a rod made for the df unless he had another coil for it.

I did email the seller and he didn't realize it was a special rod. He asked me to send him $10 and he will ship it to me so that is what I am doing.

White's still sells the older Clevis. It's called the Heavy Duty Clevis. $9.95. You'll have to cut off the clevis off a lower rod, drill a 1/4" hole in the rod, and then the older style clevis slides in and snaps into position. You will also have to drill a second hole (1/4") in the clevis. use a 1/4" nylon bolt with a wing nut for adjusting the BigFoots angle.
