Bigfoot coil and the Classic IDX

I know the 6.59 kHz Bigfoot coil for the XLT works well on the XLT as I have tried one. Will it also function properly on an IDX? The XLT has the absolute value function to allow for the unique properties of the coil, but the IDX doesn't. Just looking for info now. Love my new to me IDX. In fact a local electronics shop is doing the Mr. Bill mod on it right now. As I hunt quite a few athletic fields, the Bigfoot may be worth the investment.

I have an IDX and use the Bigfoot coil with it. It does work. The back half of the coil gives a double beep when it sweeps over a target. It actually helps locate the target quicker because you know a single beep is the front half and double is in the rear half. I usually pinpoint off the front of the coil. Don't forget when ground balancing only use the tip of the coil.

It also works fine with any of the Classic series both the older ones with C cells and the later SL II and SL III.
