I was having a problem with my WM-10 Charging properly sent an e-mail to Minelab Service USA and got a quick response and a new unit in just a couple of days! All I can say is WOW fantastic service. They know how to take care of their customers!

Good to hear a Bell! I'm sorry I did not get back to you sooner. It has been a hectic couple days. We are up here in the Adirondacks ice fishing, instead of dirt fishing....

No problem...ice fishing brrr! Did you see the FAA banned a beer company from delivering beer to ice fisherman in Minnesota by drones?

Thanks for all your help in so many ways...you da man!

Bell-Two,
I had the same problem and Minelab sent me a new WM10 immediately......it was on my doorstep 3 days later and they didn't even want the old one back! Yes, I agree, terrific service! But, they could use a few more people on the phones......the wait is oft times rather lengthy. Glad they got you fixed up, too!

Good news! I have never had a problem with ML service. Not needed them much but when I did they were GREAT! Everyone needs to check out their batteries and chargers before it gets warm and take off swinging and hopefully digging. HH :minelab:

One things for sure they are getting A WHOLE LOT better!!

Question How do you know one is charged, Mine just keeps blinking green.

That is the problem I was having with my first WM10. It seems that the voltage sensing circuit in some units is set too high and the voltage level of the fully charged battery is never reaching a level that allows the light to come on solid. My new unit will go from flashing to a solid light after the needed period of charging, dependent on its' current state of discharge. It should not take over about 4 hours to completely charge the battery.

Now, in answer to your question, the only way to know for sure is to test the battery's voltage with a digital voltmeter. A fully charged Lithium Polymer or Lithium Ion battery will read a maximum of about 4.23 volts with a full charge. My batteries read 4.13 and 4.14 volts, which is within specs. I'm not sure, but, I believe the low voltage cut off is around 3.6 to 3.7 volts. Lithium batteries can be ruined by allowing the voltage to get too low....they can reach a point that they will no longer recharge. However, leaving them on a good charger does not seem to hurt them, as they will not develop a 'memory' like the old Ni-Cd or Ni-Mh batteries.

Since my first unit still works, yet, never indicates a full charge, I suspect the problem to be, indeed, with the voltage sensing circuitry. I am not an electronics professional, so, take the above as my swag.
