Big silver walked in to SAVE the day!

today I hunted an old farm, and we had visions of indians, barbers seated coins etc dancing in our heads..........but it was not meant to be, the first 5 or 6 coins we dug we 1980's clad at 6" deep.......that is NOT a good sign, something tells me they brough fill dirt in around the house, even though the current owner does know anything about it. Went to the side yard, same thing, back yard same thing. I was about to throw in the towel and walked out by the barn hoping to get an old relic or something OLD.

Well first target out was a solid 44 on my x-70 and I thought no way this is a half dollar, this place has not even given up a wheat penny yet.

Well 4" down out pops this 1946 walker. Sure saved the day! Hunted awhile longer and squeked out one deep wheat, and it was only a 1946. Not sure where all the goodies were but I drove an hour to get to this farm and Was a bit disappointed we did not find more. Yet very thrilled to get my 4th silver half for the year!!!!

That Walker sure is in damn nice shape, Nice find.

I know how you feel. 2 years a go I got permission to hunt an old farm that was way back in the woods. their were trees that were growing up in the lane to the house that were 2 foot across at the base. All that I found were a few coins from the 40's and 50's and 1 slick IH.

Oh well, off to the next one.
