I got permission to hunt around a small old house that's been empty for some years now. I was hunting around the front porch area, and right from the start I got a nice high pitch sound (Read about 4
and 6" deep. Dug down to find not 1 but 2 Silver quarters both in the 50's in the same hole.
As I hunted further and about 30 min later I found a nice Mercury dime, and some old Wheaties. Then I hit a dry spell of just some old trash, than I looked over to the edge of the property and found what I think is the concrete foundation of an old small greenhouse with a lot of weeds around it a an old tree stump also covered with weeds and vines. This is where I found the nice silver half dollar and this silver spoon within about three feet of each other. When I found that half, my detector was singing that very high pitch (Read 48, 49). I thought It might be a soda can, but no this was a solid sound and not fluttie like a can will make, and also had some depth showing about 5 to 6 inches. I was thinking at first it might be another silver quarter, but as I moved the dirt back I could see the edge and by the size I new right away I had found a beautiful Half Dollar.
Amazingly about 3 feet away I got another high pitch silver sound at the base of the old tree stump. Thinking that I had found another silver coin i was surprised when I found this old silver spoon. After some cleaning it shines like new. What a good time!!
