A detecting buddy and I did a thanksgiving weekend south road trip Friday/Saturday and part of Sunday. We made it to the edge of Missouri.
I researched some parks and planned our route prior to the trip. Temps on Saturday hit 63 degrees and the ground was completely diggable.
Sunday was only 21 degrees with a brisk north wind but we still made some good finds despite our chattering teeth.
One of the rings is 10K gold and I believe the old locket is gold plated. Finds are from about 10 different parks.
The guy I detected with found a very cool standing liberty quarter ring. The Entire coin (1926) was the head of the ring.
The half dollar I found was about 6 inches deep. He found 1936 half an hour earlier so I howled pretty good when I unearthed it. He said he thought a dog
was howling nearby.
