Finds are from a long weekend Iowa road trip starting Friday with "Silver King". The rain pounded us a lot of the time but we managed to
get over some deep old finds. My favorite find of the trip was the 1927 1st place half mile run track medal. It was 8-9 inches deep.

Coin Finds

Half dollar is 1935. It was surrounded by Iron and initially read like a penny until I got right over it. I noticed half dollar numbers but didn't get my hopes up until I saw it. It was about 8 inches deep.
Dimes are 1904,1906,1911,1919,1924,1951,1954,1957. A couple of the barber dimes were a good 9 inches deep.
Nickels are 1892,1910,1912,1925,1936,1937,1941,1941,1946
Indian Head pennies are 1867 (Semi key year), 1888, 1901,1905,1907
37 Wheat pennies are back to 1910.

Other Finds

Old play knife handle
Simplex 1906 Pencil Sharpener (pat date 1906)
Watchung Silver Company Old Spoon
2 old merchant tokens
Chinese Triangle holed coin
Old Signet watch
New Track medal ( surface find in grass ; it read 12-48 )
Indian Chief pin
Small ring
Couple buttons

We used both the stock coil and 13 inch coils.

Really, really great haul of finds there!! Wow....you had a really great week of hunting. I love the silver and the track medal is really cool.

Awesome again FPD. Believe it or not, I found that exact sharpener this year. What are the odds. I am with you, the track medal is by far my favorite item that you found. Awesome condition and gotta love finding a pre "participation trophy" award. LOL Congrats on the gorgeous Walker as well. Look forward to seeing your next finds.
