I want to thank Old Beach Nut (Joe) for an outstanding job on my headphones. I tested the Blue to ensure everything worked properly. I believe it is louder than my Xcal II. Once i did the headphone swap...... there is NO doubt, these babies are loud. I may have to turn down the volume some. Oooo man do they feel good too. Anyone ever use the Pro Golds..... then you know how crystal clear they are. what a world of difference with those long tones of the Xcal.

Cool! I don't think OBN is really aware of the following he has with his youtube vids either! I know I sure learned a lot from them. Thanks Joe! :beers:

+1 on OBN. My next upgrade are his skullies and a remote pp one my Excal II. Just got to get employed first. :]]]

Joe did a A-1 job on my Scullies

I got in about an hour with them once i got everything put together on the Blue. There is going to be a learning curve for me with the tones. The volume on tiny targets thou is increadible. I was picking up the tinyiest pieces of copper from WWII rounds and deeper than normal depths. Ive got to put in a few more hours to get sizing down as well. The tones are as chrisp as any headphones ive ever used. They are loud..... so it may take time to figure out modulation difference between small and deep targets. Not that it will matter much since i dig everything out there. Those jell pads do an excellent job of cutting out the noise and wind. Ive got nothing but time thou...... Joe you did good with these babies..... thanks.

Thanks guys, any feed back is welcome...Maybe a shorter coiled cord? Just hope they help in the treasure hunt..for all of us....Any problems I have two sets made up for quick replacement....Thanks Joe

DONT EVEN THINK ABOUT GOING TO A SHORTER CORD. If you are aware of a possible issue and tie it off you prevent that... i wouldnt want a shorter cord thats part of the yellow headphones issue we dont like.

Your not just whistleing Dixie Dew, like i said before they are the best headphones i ever had on this head and the comfort also. WTG Joe

Damn OBN, if I didn't know who you were I'd think you could walk on water....then again, after using these headphones maybe you can.

Thanks Guys, I'm just passing along what is needed from my experiences, now all we have to do is pass the test of time....

No waking on the water until my tech man gets back from Dubai and gives me his report on the skullies....OT Lewis, hope he's well and digging some of that Hi K yellow....

Fsa, pulled the DF out....putting batteries in her tonight...

Did a little testing behind a couple of people gridding the beach. I wanted to get a real test of how the Blue and headphones did in tuff hunting. They both had high end detectors but from my finds they werent doing something right. I got over $5.50 in change. Its a shame the rings looked good..... but were junk. The one small one with diamonds is 10K 1.3 g. that one gold item with the chain is marked .925. I was hearing some really tiny pieces of foil.... which the 10K sounded like. These headphones are coin killer Joe. IMO the Xcal can miss deep quarters. Because ive located them in PP and not been able to hear them in disc. But a quarter really sounds good with these headphones compared to the yellows.

Dew...clue me in...when you say the Blue what machine are you talking about.....I gotta get me some Skullies for my Blue Excal 1000....Thanks...Tab.

Yes im talking about a Blue Xcal 1000. Excellent headphones and the end caps Joe made really makes them simple to put on. Got in another hunt today with thm ... im starting to get the tones down for various targets..... dug a LOT of pull tabs, coins and foil and a nice silver rope chain with a silver ring. The combination seems to love foil gum wrappers. Its not loosing deep quarters the way the Xcal II does.... very clear tones. My hunting buddy didnt think its as deep, but i believe the very high tones on small target makes it seem that away. I dug some deeper than average pull tabs and nickels today. If there is a nickel there it will get them. All dry sand hunting still.... just to many large swells the next few days to get in.

Skullies are done for this year, possible next winter...............

Id say by time you get into the next batch Joe you should have some good feed back from us using them this year. Your problem is going to be .... we will be begging for a second pair as back up or for our back up machines. From what i can tell so far ..... you are going to be a very busy man my friend.

I know you used Doc amp with the larger coils for awhile. How does that amp work with these headphones?

Dew

Dew, I have yet to try. OTLewis sent me three Amps to try out also, I have yet to hookup any of them. Once my house is done and up forsale then I can play. That's April 15th...

One think I do know, I enjoyed the Skullies for 3 days beach hunting, and they are very close to the performance of the amp...in PP..
I just finished a set for the DF, testing later today when I've done my house work..Bigscoop should have his machine on the beach his weekend...remote pp/skullies.
