Big shell ast the beach with my GT.

I have been hitting my local M.A/ N.H beaches for years with my Sovereign GT and I have never found machine gun shells like this before?
Could they be from a Coast Guard training exercises?
Kinda threw me off. Wonder if they are modern or old?

Thanks
HH

not sure but i think they might be 50 calibur...your probably right about them being military at least i hope so...

Jason,

How did those brass cartridge casings sound on the Sovereign....Like big gold? A few weeks back I scooped up a intact .22 Long Rifle cartridge, sounded like small gold to me on the Excalibur.

Found maybe a dozen ,at least ,in the water on long island and neighbors claimed air force practice .]Believe it was 50 cal-the ones I found in Moriches bay.
Happy hunting ,Sam in ms(transplant from long island)

Those definitely look like .50 cal rounds.. there were various practice straffing ranges along the coast here around the 1950s, and they show up a lot. They give quite the strong signal.
