Big old house hunt

Got permission to hunt a large home that belonged to a Doctor in the late 1800's. Didn't find as much as I hoped but was still a great day.

Awesome Finds & Video! Great job on the dime trifecta! I would say that is an Awesome Day and Great fun! I enjoyed watching, Thanks.

I really enjoyed your video. Thanks a lot for taking the time to make it and post it. Its almost like you took us metal detecting with you.

great video......great finds. Two things I HAVE to say. Why did you say you don't get excited to see a signal like 12-32???? that scream indian to me all day long! And second thing I have to say, please, PLEASE do NOT rub silver coins, if one of them had been a key date you could have lost 100s of dollars by rubbing it. Also congrats on your dime trifecta.....I dug one of those segrams tokens last yr, another cool find. 6 silvers for a yard is a GREAT day

Thanks for the compliments! To be honest I don't really dig that many Indians. Out of 24 barbers this year I have only found 12 Indian heads and from what I remember most of them read around 35 co. I usually don't rub coins but it's a bad habit I've gotten into the last few weeks since I started making videos. I think I'm going to start brining a spray bottle and hook it on my back pocket while I hunt. That way when I get a silver I can spray the dirt off (I think the water pressure will remove the dirt easily)...

here is a tip for you, bring a pill bottle with water in it, drop the coin in it and twirl it around, it will knock the dirt right off! problem solved! keep up the good work, and keep digging those 30's...more indians should start coming out for you!

Great tip! That sounds much better than walking around with a spray bottle

Great video RC, enjoyed watching it 2x. Some excellent finds there.

I love hunting the yards of old homes. Did the two of you hunt the entire yard?

If you hunt often with a buddy and split up the yard, it is fun to swap areas after you finish and see what your buddy left behind. I hunt a little more carefully if I know that my friend is going to be going over the area after I'm done.

Best of luck,

Rich (Utah)

Thanks Rich =) We hunted the entire front yard and most of the back yard. I always make it a point to go over every inch of the ground if possible ( I was using a 12x13 coil so was able to cover a lot of ground). When Dad and I were hunting he would start at one side and I would start on the other and we would cross paths and hunt what the other had already gone over. It's always fun to give the other grief when they miss a good target :wiggle:. If I have some good finds in a particular area or have a lot of time I'll hit it at 90* and sometimes diagonal too. This was one of those places where we didn't really know the folks and we had permission to hunt it for one day. Dad only found one silver there. If We had found some larger silver or more altogether I would ask for another day on the site but I figured they were kind enough to let us hunt so I didn't want to wear out my welcome unless it was one of those real honey holes...
