Got a package today.....the Ultimate 13 coil arrived so I decided to take it to the triple pounded old fairground in town...At first I started digging some wheaties one of which was 10 inches deep according to my shovel. My shovel is marked up the blade and handle to 12 inches.. The sound it gave on this coin was strangely different, very fast up and down tone with the high pitch scrubbing the coil to the ground... At this point I'm getting impressed and went on to dig two war nickels (silver) 6 to 7" and a Merc at about 8 to 9"s. The hunting I did was in the same areas I hunted with the Pro coil... The coil ran smooth at 22 IM 26 sensitivity on auto........I think this one is going to be a good field hunter etc... definitely like it!.. Oh, I need to mention the weight of the coil is not bad at all, not much difference between it and the Pro coil..

14 wheats
2 war nickels both P 43..44
1 Merc...43
2 Clad Quarters
zinc pennies
A broach of some sort..

Thanks for looking......................John in Va...

Nice finds John. :clapping:
It appears that you made a great choice for field hunting.

You mentioned "same areas I hunted with the Pro coil"

I know a Pro-Coil should pick up a Merc at 9" but, was this Merc canted or totally on edge which gave the Utlimate the edge in picking it up with a stronger signal?
I often get really small cartridge copper cases at 7-8" with my stock coil so, did you dig anything really small not worth of posting at deep depths with the Ultimate?

Look forward to feature finds and your reviews of this coil.

Mike..............The Merc may have been on edge.... the other thing about hunting fields is the lack of the halo effect because the coins are constantly been moved due to tillage. Also you can't really scrub the ground when a lot of corn stalks etc are present.. As for the Pro coil, it is very good and capable of hitting coins at great depth.. I've only used the U-13 for about two hours, it does seem to separate well and it also should surpass the Pro in depth because of it's size.

I am well aware of that but, just wait until you get into a soybean or hay field.
It makes me think of my WOT in the soybean and hay fields. :jump:
The WOT is heavy though weighing in at 2lbs as the Ultimate only weighs in at 1.058 = 480g.

Nice finds.

I think you'll love it in the fields John.

It's much easier to swing and control than my WOT coil and hits very hard on coins.

When I reviewed the Ultimate the one thing I noticed was that if you passed over a coin...it was very distinct and almost like having an extra couple settings higher on gain...unlike any other coil I had ever used.

The biggest difference I noticed was that it does not false much which is what set it apart from the pro coil IMHO.

I don't use the pro coil much because it falses way to much for my personal preference over deep iron and gave me too many "dig me" signals that ended up being iron.

On the Ultimate coil those same type of hits would NOT repeat like they did with the pro coil...and I obviously did not dig them.

Each and every time I did...it was iron.

For me....if a signal didn't repeat at least 2 to 3 angles with the ultimate...it was junk....whereas with other coils I like I could take a chance on those "one way"..."two way" hits and sometimes be rewarded with a coin hiding in iron.

I was also able to manual 26 sensitivity at many sites where with other coils I had to run semi auto 26 at the same sites.

Enjoy it...it's a great coil.

The ultimate 13 looks like a winner ! Nice digs !

Thanks Bryce for your input.......I will try the manuel setting soon. And by the way, your field test were responsible in part for my purchase of the U-13 coil...I'm certain I'll be liking the U-13 a lot as I get more familiar with it.. I appreciate all the extra effort you put into sharing your experience with others....HH.............................John
