Just wondering if anyone else has has a similar experience with the MXT. I've had the unit for a few years now and usually hunt in relic mode, trigger forward and rejection around three to four (still accepts nickles) it will clip or null (reject) on nails. Sensitivity is at preset and the 10" DD elliptical. ground balance and then set to fixed.
In the areas I've been hunting the unit will hit with high tones on larger Iron objects such as cans and can lids tobacco cans etc. I even have good tones on smaller disc shaped iron as in fender washers. These objects register in the 30 to 50 range on the ID.
I've tried coin mode but like the relic mode with trigger forward which is supposed to reject everything below the reject level. Tried switching to coin mode but these large iron targets still sound good there. Also tried all metal and the iron ID was showing low probability for Iron? I thought the iron ID is why everyone uses these in Alaska. I have hunted with the GMT in Alaska and its iron ID on dozer blade is exceptional.
Any suggestions would be appreciated, maybe the unit needs to go into the shop?
Thanks
