Went back to the scene of the little silver coin spill this evening. Was'nt finding much .. not even a wheatie today. But this beauty presented itself to me on one of my last holes of the day. It is a (heavy) Future Farmers of America sterling silver ring. Have no idea how old it is . . still researching it. Enjoy !

NICE !!!! duck duck GOOSE!!! one heck of a HONKER!!!

Wow nice!! I almost hope i dont find any rings when I get my md though. I will feel really guilty knowing someone is missing their ring and I will not know what to do with it.

I showed it to the landowner and he said it was from before he owned the property. Think he said he bought the place in the late 70's. I offered to buy it from him but he said that since I went through the trouble of finding it, I could keep it !

Awesome find McDave! That ring is a beauty!

Don't hope for that, finding rings makes it fun and worthwhile, that's why I mostly hunt the water in the beach.....Good luck and let us know when you find one. HH John

Congrats on the nice silver McDave.:clapping:

Thanks for the info Jim. So basically the ring's age can range from 1928 to 1970 ? But mine is likely an older one ... that's great. I did'nt think I could narrow it down to a specific year but I'm still happy to know it could be that old.

Sweet find! Do you know what the silver value is worth?

The silver content is about 3/4 of an ounce ... around $15 to $18. But it's collector value is more .. I saw a couple on Ebay going for $150 in mint condition to around $60 for one in the condition mine is in !
