Big Foot Coil Question

RELIC_HUNTER

New member
Depth wise, maybe 4 inches, does it detect the full length both in dis and AM or just one mode. Is it a heavy coil and asking because I know nothing about this coil...Would like to use at the beach with my IDX Pro...Any input would be helpful.

Well it works like a cars windshield wiper and covers a lot of ground and probably a 6-7 inch depthwise...I have used one on an XLT which has a facet(absolute value) which shrinks the coil in half and makes it easy to pinpoint. You would have to pinpoint with the full coil length which might be a little harder.I would Google Jimmy Sierra enterprises as they make them for Whites and should answer all your questions..I understand now banned at many planted hunts due ro an unfair advantage because of its coverage.Jimmy makes excellent proucts although they are pricey and might look into one..

Dan is right on depth but the operation of the coil depends on what machine you are using it on. Some units will detect the full length in AM and others, just the front half of the coil. Jimmy no longer sells the BigFoot due to the death of the manufacture, but he should be able to answer your questions. Weight is no problem, a very lightweight coil and a breeze to use........ ideal for covering large areas like beaches and sport fields for clad and jewelry. I haven't used a Bigfoot on the IDX so you may very well get the half coil in All Metal. On the DFX and V3i, I get full length in All Metal mode, but either way it pinpoints spot on between the arrows.

It will detect full length in Disc. with a single beep on the front half and a double beep on the back half. Pinpont or AM it will detect on the front half only. Depth about 4-6" max on soil but more on the sand if you use your blacksand switch and set your disc to minimum. Very light weight and a killer on the beach.
