Big coil and water detecting

COINHAWKER

New member
Does anyone detect with the XP Deus in fresh water? Does it do well in fresh water? Also does the coil tend to float? Wondering how the 13 inch coil does in less trashy parks and beaches. I was thinking about getting the IM6 pinpointer but some people are having problems. Wonder if I should pass it? Your feedback is appreciated.

I have used my 9" HF coil in fresh water and it does just fine. I can't tell any difference from land actually. It does tend to float a little.
I have heard that a software version 4.1 is coming out in 2 weeks or so and I assume (but don't know) that it will address all outstanding issues like the pinpointer.

Keep in mine that the wireless Deus will not transmit a signal in water for an object that deeper than about 4 inches w/o the converter. I'm getting the pinpointer because I believe it benefits outweigh its apparent peculiarities at this point.
