I got this one from a huge dune last week,
it's a

It makes a change for us to have something bigger than you guys in the U.S.A.
Yep, sure is a heavy one and although they are in circulation they aren't common yet.
Like you guys with the gold dollar, I just can't wait for them to get spread out more on the ground.
(yee haa)

Now you've got me jealous!:ranting:. That's about $13 in our money! And I thought we had it good with our $1 and $2 coins! I'd be doing back flips too if I were you.
Congrats. Now that's clad worth hunting for.:beers:

Mick,
I was just lucky being in the right place at the right time, guess I won't find one for another 5 years if I'm lucky. They are scarce probably due to their size and weight, but I wouldn't complain if I got a spill
of 4 or 5. I'd just be more tired when I got home.
(and pigs will fly)

WOW....not only is the find impressive...your pics are as well..well done Ian....btw got your message and will send more pics some time soon

THat is cool!!!

Hi David,
Nice to hear from you again.
I hope life is treating you well, missed your presence on the forum. Great to see you back.

Thanks, Ian. I just havent been doing much detecting lately.

That is one helluva a coin you got there! As we say here in the States - "you go, man!"

Is that a common issue piece, a commenmorative, or what? Surely the Crown isn't spitting out such a coin on a regular basis.

That would be an unbelieveble find in my eyes and Id probably experience a fecal expulsion into the seat section of my pants were I to make that recovery.

I suppose that, even though you are a stolid Scot, you managed a chirp or two of joy at that moment. Awesome, man!

I sure did a wild highland dance when I pulled it out.
Got a couple of them a few years ago as change from a twenty pound note, can't wait for them to be commonly used. They are legal tender but even many shop assistants have never seen one.
Must be gettin' spat out the mint on a regular basis as they've always got a different pattern on the reverse, usually to commemorate something or other.
But at 1&1/2 inches dia. the Ace certainly did it's ring a ding ding it was about 6 inches down and rung up clearly.
Cheers m8.

So youre telling us the Crown is chunking out silver rounds on a regular circulation basis? What gives with that??
