Big Bertha.... my trench machine/coil

Thought I'd share a photo of my trench coil, use it up in the Petersburg area. We ended up trying it in this lawn behind me and found a Civil War trash pit with 5 whole bottles, ration cans and about 15 bullets.

Nice finds Skip.If that was an encampment,I definitely would work the woods behind you.That might be where all the activity was.Check around the oldest trees.Very nice pictures and good luck

Yeah he sure did, he's got some great stories I could listen to him for hours.

I just wish I started relic hunting when he did(probably wasn't even alive yet), I can now only imagine finding some of the relics he's found over the years. I guess everyone knows Henry.

Man its a small world, let me tell you, he was like a kid in a candy store. I couldn't keep the shovel out of his hands, I told him to take a break and let my buddy Dave and I dig the hole. But he wouldn't, I hope that I'm as spunky at his age.

Love his stories about being in the Navy in WWII, especially since I'm in the Navy now.

It is truly a small world. Our grandfather was good friends with Henry and served with him in the Navy. After they got out they remained good friends. From what my uncle tells my brother and I him and Herny used to haul out truckloads. Send me an email skip. tarheelmilitia@yahoo.com
